what is the point of a total solar eclipse if you don’t tell your father that him challenging you to a duel at age 13 was cruel and unjust and that imperialism causes harm to the entire world and that you’re betraying him to help train the person who’s going to end his reign

Winteriron is so great tho like Bucky is just this moody grumpy grump and Tony is this sarcastic asshole but put them together and suddenly Bucky is smiling like the starlight shines directly out of Tony’s ass and Tony is being all soft and adorable and stumbly around his giant superboyfriend and. yeah. It’s good. We can all go home now.

this is established: I’M LOVING SO MUCH that isa speaks her mind and stands up for herself, this remake gave eva this much tougher personality and it’s great. i don’t care if she comes across as grumpy, which she sort of is, but I’M LOVING that they don’t care. AND ISA doesn’t care if you don’t like her, she’s gonna fucking sulk all day if she wants to, she doesn’t owe you an explanation. and i say this from a feminist pov: it’s SO COMMON for the audience to turn their backs on a female character as soon as she’s temperamental YET when it’s a boy we accept it and even find it funny/endearing. thank u skam nl for this.

And since we’re talking about Jason’s reconciliation with his father last week vs. Eleanor and her mother and Tahani and her sister this week…

So Jason’s dad apologizes to his son, takes the fall for the robbery, and then Jason gets to help his friend get on the right path in life by helping old people.

Meanwhile Tahani and Eleanor have this narrative that women are always put through! Women always have to “be the bigger person” and women are always told to apologize for things out of their control and women are always expected to make amends and be calm and not be angry or yell or hold grudges.

Jason got to have at least a nice moment with his father and his friend, but Michael just kept telling Eleanor to bottle it up! Michael literally told Eleanor, “Remember, this is not about you.”

Fuck that!

Her mother abused and neglected and abandoned her, and Eleanor is supposed to suck it up because it’s “not about her”? Are you kidding me?

As someone who really relates to Tahani…I didn’t like how she had to forgive Kamilah. Like, Kamilah was smug and rubbed it in her face that she’s always better and yeah their parents were abusive and pit them against each other but Tahani never thought shs was good enough! And it looked like her parents have /always/ favored Kamilah over Tahani. It’s fucked up. Kamilah being an abuse victim doesn’t excuse her abusing Tahani. And Eleanor shouldn’t have had to forgive her abusive mom either
