i love nailed it so much

i was worried after season 1 that the whole concept would get stale but it honestly keeps getting better and better

it’s just so wholesome and lighthearted and everyone legitimately looks like they’re having the best time

the contestants are never mean to each other and they’re all aware of their limitations in the kitchen and are all just happy to be there and even though the show sets these impossible standards with professional multi-tier cakes and crazy short timelines, the contestants are never crazy stressed out and it’s clear they’re not taking the whole thing too seriously and are just doing their best

and then you have the judges who eat whatever’s presented to them no matter who questionable it looks, who give actually helpful advice and never look down on these home bakers, who always find at least one nice thing to say no matter how terrible something looks

and when the bakers present their final bakes, which are oftentimes messy and flat out ugly, they’re never ashamed of what they’ve done – they are proud of their sloppy cakes and misshapen cookies and they own their accomplishments regardless of how successful they were

it’s really such a great reminder that you don’t have to create something perfect in order to be proud of it – the effort you put in is enough, the fact that you completed it is enough, sometimes you try your best and your best isn’t all that good and that’s okay, it’s okay

even though the show is ostensibly just making fun of mediocre bakers it’s never mean-spirited and it’s just so much fun watching a bunch of adults goofing off and having a great time

this show is such a balm and i’ve never belly laughed as hard as when i’m watching the final reveals, so thank you netflix, for this wonderful gem, thank you so much

I love it too and my sister has been watching it with her kids because it’s funny but also a gentle way to encourage failure and learning.

I’m absolutely adopting the Nailed It! philosophy for writing. And parenting. And baking. And baaaaaaasically everything.
